Deco was sold out during the Arda Guler negotiations

| sport

Barça lost Arda Güler at the last minute in a twist of script that even the club itself did not expect. Deco travelled to Turkey believing that the deal was half done due to a previous agreement with Fenerbahce, who closed everything with Barça, keeping the trump card of having the player on loan for a season. He was misinformed internally.

Deco's surprise was huge when, at the meeting with the player and his entourage, they told him that they did not want to continue in Turkey and that they were not interested in any Barça-Fenerbahce agreement. There was some tension because part of Güler's entourage, does not have good relations with his now former club.

Deco already sensed problems, but pledged to look for another loan to a team outside Turkey if the player gave the OK to join Barça, although he left with the feeling that the game was lost if any top European club entered the bidding.

And Madrid took advantage of this to close a deal for Güler in just 24 hours and behind everyone's back. Deco had the feeling that he travelled already 'sold out' to Turkey with premises that did not fit the reality and he could do nothing to reverse the situation.
