The sporting director thanked Joao Felix and Joao Cancelo for ther effort, as well as Ter Stegen

Deco, FC Barcelona's sporting director, has started his public appearances with his work in the transfer market done.

The former Portuguese international successfully closed the summer window with the arrivals of Joao Cancelo and Joao Félix and spoke to DAZN at the end of the clash at El Sadar, which Barcelona won 2-1 against Osasuna.

This was Deco's first trip in his new role and he fulfilled the same function as, for example, Jordi Cruyff before him. Deco spoke about one of the players who arrived at the last minute, Cancelo, who played an important role in the victory over Osasuna.

He said of the full-back that "he has a lot of experience, he is a mature player who knows the moments of the games and how to manage them."

Deco added that "he is a player who brings competitiveness, quality, we always play with Araujo, Koundé and we needed to have a player in this position (right-back)."

Cancelo made his FC Barcelona debut, helping to seal a hard-fought win against Osasuna's fierce opponents.

Deco also spoke about his experience this summer and confessed that "it has been a difficult market" and thanked the players for their role.

"The players wanted to come and they understand the role, that we need their help and they did it," he said. "Joao Cancelo and Félix follow this example, also our captain, Ter Stegen, who has renewed, helping in Fair Play, and giving stability. It's important to have players with this spirit, and thanks to their efforts the signings have arrived."
