Busquets broke protocol and joined Barça fans in trophy celebrations

The Barcelona captain lifted the trophy at Camp Nou in his penultimate game in the stadium

Sergio Busquets savoured the league title in a very special way. The captain collected the trophy from Luis Rubiales, president of the Royal Spanish Football Federation, took it to the pitch to join his teammates, dedicated a few words to the fans and, to finish, literally merged with the Culés.

Busquets skipped the protocol and slipped into the Grada d'Animació as one more fan. Microphone in hand, 'Busi' sang with all of them, while the rest of his teammates applauded in front of him on the pitch.

He also wanted his two kids to be present at the party and they took to the pitch wearing FC Barcelona shirts.

In his speech, Busquets spoke first of all about the teammates who have helped, but who have left during the season: "I want to thank Héctor (Bellerín), Auba, Memphis, Gery (Piqué) and the people from the reserve team who have helped us to win this title."

He then extended his thanks "to all the staff, who are in the shadows and are just as important. They keep us in the best conditions."

Busquets pointed out that "we wanted to win titles, being a great team and with great fans. Thanks for the support, without you it wouldn't be possible."

His speech ended with an optimistic message: "Finally, don't doubt that this has only just begun. Visca el Barça and visca Catalunya."
