Barcelona much better in the second half of games

They have scored triple the goals after the break compared to the first half

Es una tendencia que ya se mostró con Valverde la anterior campaña, cuando la diferencia total fue de 21 goles más en las segundas partes

Barcelona are improving as the games go on. Ernesto Valverde’s side have scored triple the gaols in the second period than in the first half. And with the exceptions of the 8-2 win over Huesca and the 4-0 win against PSV, the goals in second halves have served to turn games around or win points.

In six official games, Barca have cored 20 goals. Of them just 5 have arrived in the first half with 15 after the break.

That shows Barcelona go from less to more in games and know how to deal with complex situations.

They saw Sevilla go ahead in the Spanish Super Cup with Pique equalising before half-time and Dembele in the 79th minute winning it.

In La Liga they were tied with Alaves until late before Messi hit two and Coutinho one to earn Barca the points.

Similar happened against Valladolid, with Dembele’s second half goal giving them three points.

Against Huesca they were 3-1 up at half-time, going on to hit five more after the break.

Real Sociedad were another opponent felled in the second half. Elustondo sent La Real ahead but Suarez and Dembele’s strikes after the break earned Barca the win.

Messi netted one against PSV before hitting two more in the second period, along with Dembele’s strike.

Last season the signs were clear that Barca were better after the break, netting 81 of 141 goals then, compared to 60 in the first half. That tendency seems more exaggerated at the start of this season.
