Valverde's team are ready for a rollercoaster ride from Valencia to Dortmund to Sevilla

La Liga is back and the Champions League is too. Seven matches in a row until the next international break, five in La Liga, two in Europe.

Football returns to Camp Nou with a high intensity battle between two European classified sides. Valencia visit, having sacked their coach despite winning the Copa del Rey and getting another top four finish. Hard to believe, but it’s true.

Under Marcelino they proved that they have the measure of Barcelona, beating them in the Copa final. Barca couldn’t beat them in the three clashes they played in that era.

Now former Barca player Albert Celades is on the bench and we have to see what impact it has.

Barcelona have started the league worse than in any season since 2008-09 under Pep Guardiola, so they need to get back on track.

To be fair, they went on to win the treble that season.

Barca now have a game every three days, pretty much, a huge physical demand.

On Tuesday Borussia Dortmund await in Germany. The analysts say it’s the hardest Champions League group - Inter and Slavia Prague are the other sides.

Barca’s run:

Valencia H

Dortmund A

Granada A

Villarreal H

Getafe A

Inter Milan H

Sevilla H
