Barcelona in contact with Fiorentina to take part in Joan Gamper Trophy
The Catalan club are struggling to find an opponent after Roma pulled out
Barcelona's search for a rival in the Joan Gamper Trophy has led them to Italian side Fiorentina, SPORT have learned.
Barça's men and women had been scheduled to play Roma's men's and women's sides on August 6 but the Serie A side pulled out.
Talks then took place with Milan but it was not possible in the end for the Italian champions to take part in the fixtures at Camp Nou.
Fiorentina are now on the table. The men's team finished seventh last season to qualify for the Europa Conference League -- and the women also finished seventh, curiously.
Conversations are still in the initial phase but at this stage of the summer there are not many options and Fiore represent a more than interesting possibility.
