The 18-year-old currently plays for Croatian second-division side NK Kustosija

Barcelona continue to work on their sporting planning for next season. Now the name of Mikayil Faye, a young 18-year-old centre-back who is on the club's agenda, has appeared again. According to Fabrizio Romano, the signing of the Senegalese player is closed.

SPORT have since learned that the transfer was forged after a meeting between Juanma López, the Senegalese player's agent, who is also the agent of Alvaro Morata and Dani Olmo, and Mateu Alemany. Although it may have seemed that they were meeting for one of these two players, the talks were to work on the signing of Faye.

The price, according to Fabrizio Romano's information, would be around €5 million plus variables. The left-footed defender, who had attracted interest from Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund, is ready to sign his contract with FC Barcelona.

Faye is a young centre-back from Croatian second-division side NK Kustosija, a club known for nurturing talent at its academy. So much so that Barça have come knocking on the door.

Faye exhibits great potential in defence and has been praised for his ability to break down lines with his left foot. He has caught the eye of Barça's scouts thanks to his performances for both his club and Senegal U-17 team.
