Barcelona are in the hunt for Rodrygo, the new Neymar

Barça have already started work on a very important operation for the future. The club have already made moves to seal the signing of the great jewel of Brazilian football, Santos forward Rodrygo Goes who has a lot of similarities with Neymar.

A Barcelona emissiary has already made contact with the Santos player's people and with his club to reach out to the player and the perspectives are very good. The Blaugrana are in pole position to prise Rodrygo from Santos and to negotiate a good deal with his club.

Rodrygo is 17 years old and has a lot of potential and is being talked about as being a future superstar and all the top sporting directors in the world are trying to convince him to come to their club. Barça, however, have made progress.

SCOUTING

Barça have been following Rodrygo for the last few months. He showed his quality with his performances for Brazil's youth teams but his arrival in Santos's first team has strengthen the believe that he is destined to become one of the best players in the world.

50 MILLION EUROS

Rodrygo has a release clause of 50 million euros, put in his contract a few months ago when he signed as a professional with Santos. Before then he had plenty of offers on the table but he decided to be loyal to the Brazilian club and wait for a better opportunity to emigrate.

He will turn 18 years old in January and now is the moment that the majority of teams are trying to convince him to up sticks.

Barça have held positive meetings with Rodrygo's people and they are certain he wants to play for Barça in the near future. Just like with Neymar, it will only be possible to sign him if they sign pre-contractual agreements now. And that's what they are trying to do.
