Barça put tickets on general sale for Sunday's game

Only 15,280 'socis' have requested tickets for the league opener

FC Barcelona has put tickets on general sale for this Sunday's league opener against Real Sociedad, despite attendance being capped at 30,000 due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Only 15,280 'socis' - or club members - have requested tickets for the first game of the post-Messi era.

Messi's departure, the hot temperatures forecast for this weekend and the fact that many locals leave the city during the month of August are all believed to be factors in the low demand from club members.

Given the low demand, the club has put the remaining tickets on general sale in order to reach their full permitted capacity. With tickets available for as little as €39, the club hopes that they will be able to fill their allocation for the first game with fans in the stadium in many months.

Socis who purchase tickets for this game will receive an additional 20% discount.
