'Ney' played alongside Coutinho and Arthur as he made his first official appearance of the season

For all football fans, it was good to see Neymar back out on the football pitch doing what he does best. It's been far too long since he's stepped out to play football but the headlines haven't gone away. From injuries, to court cases, to failed transfer moves: everything has kept him away from the sport. Yet he pulled on the famous Brazil shirt for a friendly against Colombia in Miami and didn't disappoint.

Neymar found himself alongside players belonging to the team he desperately wanted to rejoin this summer. Arthur played the full 90 minutes whilst Coutinho, currently on loan at Bayern, got 80 under his belt. This is probably as close as Neymar will get to lining up for Barça all season.

"In the second half I told my coaching staff: 'I'm going to take him off' in order to protect him. But I saw my answer by how well he looked, strong and organised, and it was only improving as the match went on. He was ahead of my expectations," admitted Brazil's head coach. Neymar hasn't played since he got injured on the 6th June in a friendly against Qatar.

HE'LL BE REUNITED WITH PARIS SUPPORTERS ON THE 14TH

On the 14th September, Neymar will be available for PSG's match against Strasbourg. It'll be the first time he comes face to face with the supporters who wanted him out of their club this summer. Before then he has another match with Brazil as they take on Peru (11th). The calm before the storm?
