Barça president Laporta key in securing Adama Traore on loan

The winger returned to the club from Wolves until the summer

Everything happened at Christmas. Adama Traore traveled to Barcelona to listen to the club's offer and the long-term sporting project that his ex-team are working on. The operation had been worked on through his agent, Jorge Mendes, but Adama and his family wanted to see firsthand what the club thought of him.

In the meeting, with Adama alongside a member of his family, was Barça president Joan Laporta, who convinced the winger to return to Camp Nou on very favourable terms for the Catalan club. The meeting will be remembered forever, too, because they took a photograph to mark the occasion, although it's been kept private so far.

The operation was advanced and Barça decided to pull the trigger on a deal in the final week of the window when they were convinced that Ousmane Dembele would leave the club. Everything was tied down and ready to go and the operation was wrapped up in a couple of days.

There are not many natural wingers on the market and Barça believe Adama can keep developing at Camp Nou.
