The centre-back spoke about his relationship with the two coaches

He also spoke about the demands of being a Barcelona player

France defender Samuel Umtiti has become a regular in the middle of Barcelona's back four. Along with Gerard Pique, he's one of Ernesto Valverde's two preferred centre-backs. In an interview with Ara, the player's explained his adaption to life at Camp Nou.

Competitive and meticulous, he says that his relationship with Javier Mascherano is good, despite taking his place in the team. He also compared Luis Enrique and Ernesto Valverde, saying the new coach is much more relaxed.

Here are some of the comments he made to the Catalan paper:

Demands at Barça: "At Barça, everything goes so quickly, technically there's a lot of difference with other clubs. If you have to switch play, you can't make a mistake, if you have to play on the right, you have to do it. Because if you make a mistake, you concede a goal. The level in training is incredible."

Valverde vs. Luis Enrique: "They have different ways of working. The new manager is calmer, he has a different style of talking to and managing the group. He brings calm and tranquility."

Only winning the Copa: "It would not be normal to go two years only winning the Copa. It wouldn't be enough. I am really competitive. I am at Barça to win everything, if I wasn't I would go to a less demanding club."

Intense life: "Coming to Barça's made me mature, I am young but I have experience and I have lived enough to know how to make choices."

Relationship with Mascherano: "In football, if you're picked to play, a teammate has to be left out. I get on well with everyone, with Mascherano, Pique and Vermaelen."

Playing with Pique: "As centre-backs, we have to adapt to the way our teammates play, you have to create a relationship, a dialogue."
