Barça defender Kounde: 'It was important to win before international break'

The Frenchman scored the opening goal in the 2-1 win over Osasuna

Jules Koundé was undoubtedly one of the players of the match in Pamplona as Barcelona beat Osasuna 2-1 in LaLiga on Sunday.

The Frenchman played a superb game, constantly avoiding danger in Marc ter Stegen's area and, moreover, opening the scoring with a header from a corner at the end of the first half. In fact, Jules has been one of Barça's players of the season.

The French international spoke to DAZN straight after the game and confessed that "it's always difficult to win here," something that coach Xavi agreed with when he said that "all teams will find it difficult to win here."

In that sense, Koundé was clear that "it was very important to get the three points before the (international) break".

That's because Real Madrid have won all four games so far so, thanks to the win at El Sadar, the Blaugrana are still two points behind after conceding just a draw at Getafe. That makes it three consecutive wins in LaLiga.

On the penalty with which Robert Lewandowski won the game, Koundé explained that "I've only seen it live, but it looked like a penalty to me. Then the VAR [looks], but for me it's a penalty."

On Joao Cancelo and Joao Félix he said that "they are two players who are going to help us and give us a plus offensively. Technically they are good and they will help us."
