Arturo Vidal says Barça "have to improve" despite Leganes victory

The midfielder admits things didn't go as hoped in Madrid on Saturday

Arturo Vidal came off the bench to score the winner as Barcelona beat Leganes 2-1 on Saturday despite conceding an early goal. Luis Suarez was also on target.

Vidal, though, admits that Barça were not at their best and need to improve with games coming up against Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid, Inter and Real Madrid in the coming month.

"The sensations aren't great when you go behind and we know we have to improve a lot," he told Movistar. "We're confident we can change things in the coming games. We have to make sure we're not conceding (first) and control the game. But these matches where you win the league.

"It's tough away from home. All the teams we play against give everything they've got and it's always going to be that way. We're conceding goals away from home. What we need to fro control and the game and pick up the three points."

Vidal's goal was subject to a check from VAR for a possible offside, although the pass to him had come from an opposition player. He said he wasn't aware at the time.

The Chile midfielder added: "It's always nice to score for Barcelona, especially when it earns the team three points. We turned the game around at a complicated place to come.

"I realised after the goal that a Leganes player had touched the ball to me and I wasn't offside, but at the moment I was just focused on scoring."
