The Brazilian replaces Vermaelen in Valverde's 18-man squad

Ernesto Valverde has named his squad for Tuesday's Champions League game against PSV, with Arthur Melo returning after missing Saturday's trip to Real Sociedad.

The Barcelona coach has called up 18 players for the first European game of the season, with Brazilian international Arthur recalled after resting at the weekend. The midfielder was left out after returning late from duty with his national team. He takes Thomas Vermaelen's place.

Valverde has also not called up Denis Suarez, who has been cleared to return to action after recovering from the injury he picked up in the United States. Malcom and Sergi Samper are missing with injuries, while Carles Aleña's still building up his match fitness after a long lay-off.

The full squad to face PSV:

Ter Stegen, Semedo, Piqué, Rakitic, Busquets, Coutinho, Rafinha, Luis Suárez, Leo Messi, Dembélé, Cillessen, Arthur, Lenglet, Jordi Alba, Munir, Sergi Roberto, Arturo Vidal and Samuel Umtiti.
