Andres Iniesta has a foot anda half out of Barcelona. The player has decided to move to Chinese football and his destination will be Chongqing Dangdai Lifan, owned by Granada owner, Jian Lizhang. That was announced on Chinese television station PPTV, the channel which has the television rights to Chinese football. Tianjin Quanjian pulled out of a deal in January, unable to reach a deal with the player.

Chinese football is very excited by the potential arrival of Iniesta. He will pen a deal for two and a half seasons for an eyewatering wage. Jian Lizhang also owns a 60 per cent stake in Parma and five percent in Timberwolves of Minessota. 

Iniesta was already in Chongqing last summer to do some events and promote his football camps. The team is in the upper mid table and coached by former Portuguese player Paulo Bento.

If there are no last minute surprises, Iniesta will announce his departure in the coming days and join his new club after the Russia World Cup, likely his last appearances for the Spanish national team. He would leave Barca for free, with the club thanking him for his great service and success.
