Al Ahly renew interest in Frank Kessié and Barça are hoping to close the deal soon!
Saudi club ready to make a good offer for midfielder
Frank Kessié will leave Barça and the player is currently evaluating his options. Juventus have been trying to sign him for weeks, but the player is waiting for a last-minute offer from Saudi Arabia. Several Arab media outlets claim that Al Ahly are once again interested in Kessié and have opened negotiations to try to close the deal in the next few hours.
The player would be willing to go if the proposal is financially attractive.
Kessié was already in Al Nasr's discussions a few weeks ago, but there was no agreement due to a problem of intermediaries stopping the deal in its tracks. Al Ahly have renewed their interest and are pushing hard for the Blaugrana midfielder, climbing over the other options on the table. Barça are also keen as the Arab deal could bring in more fees than the other offers from Europe.
Kessié's entourage and Barça had spoken in recent days with Juventus, who have offered a loan with a mandatory option to buy for 15 million euros. The Blaugrana club would accept, but the player is not too keen on returning to Italy. Nevertheless, Kessié could end up signing if a bigger project or a powerful financial offer does not come along.
Al Ahly could be the middle-ground solution. Unlike Lenglet, who has said 'no' to Saudi Arabia, Kessié is motivated for this adventure while waiting for an agreement to be reached.
Barça are not ruling out the possibility of an English club joining the bidding either. Tottenham are the most interested but for now, they have not made an offer.
The midfielder has spoken to Xavi again and it is clear to him that he has to leave because he will not play. He did not play in the last friendly against Milan and is absolutely on the exit ramp.
Barça want a minimum of 15 million, but if he ends up in Saudi Arabia, they could end up with even more.
